Commercial Metal Roof Retrofit Specialists in Wisconsin
Stop the leak cycle without the cost of a full tear-off. Our custom-engineered retrofit systems provide a permanent, leak-proof membrane over your existing metal roof.
One Investment. Decades of Performance.
A metal roof retrofit installs custom-cut insulation between the ribs of your existing metal roof to create a flat, stable surface. A high-performance membrane is then installed on top, providing a watertight system without the cost of a total tear-off. For building owners tired of the repair cycle, it’s often the smartest, most cost-effective investment you can make for your facility.
How It Works:
- Site evaluation and custom system design
- Structural assessment to confirm load capacity
- Flute fill (foam strips) are inserted into the metal fluting
- Insulation panels installed over flute fill
- Membrane installed on top of insulation
- Final inspection and warranty documentation
Zero Tear-Off Costs
Avoid the massive expense and landfill fees of removing your existing metal roof.
Engineered for ROI
Professional Install
Our 100% employee-driven team handles the entire process from assessment to final inspection.
Why Precision Is the Premier Choice
No Tear-Off Required
Your existing roof stays in place—meaning zero landfill costs, no deck exposure, and significantly less disruption to your daily business operations during the install.
Positive Drainage Built In
We use custom-tapered insulation to create a slope for proper drainage. This eliminates standing water and protects the membrane from premature wear.
Exceptional Longevity
By protecting your structural metal deck with a modern membrane, you extend the life of your facility by decades, creating a permanent barrier against the elements.
Energy Efficiency
The added layer of rigid insulation combined with a reflective white membrane can reduce cooling costs and keep your building more comfortable year-round.
How a Metal Roof Retrofit Works
Retrofitting a fluted metal roof requires more precision than a standard reroof — and our crew brings the expertise to do it right, from custom foam prep to final warranty inspection.
- Step 1 — Foam Strip Installation: Custom foam strips are inserted into the flutes of your existing metal roof, creating the flat, even surface required for the new membrane system.
- Step 2 — Barrier Board Installation: Barrier board sheets are laid over the foam strips. Board thickness is determined by your desired R-value, ensuring the insulation meets your building's energy needs.
- Step 3 — Single-Ply Membrane Application: The membrane roofing system is installed as the final layer. A variety of colors are available — including a white membrane, which delivers 88% reflectivity to help reduce energy costs.
- Step 4 — Heat Sealing & Custom Flashings: All seams are heat-sealed on-site. Custom pre-fabricated flashings are precisely installed and sealed around HVAC units, vents, pipes, and other roof protrusions.
- Step 5 — Breather Vent Installation: Two-way breather vents are added to eliminate condensation and ensure a fully vented roof system for long-term performance.
- Step 6 — Dual Inspection & Warranty: Every seam is checked upon completion. A Duro-Last technician then performs a second inspection — our work historically earns a 98 out of 100. Upon passing, your warranty activates: up to 20 years on both labor and materials.
